Thank You!

We would like to thank everyone we met while compiling street looks of Echo Park and Silver Lake.

Look Book Concept

The concept for our look book will focus on a couple (man & woman) exploring the many wonders of Los Angeles.  This day in particular they stumble upon Little Tokyo and the Arts District. We will capture them in the midst of admiring the street art. The main goal of this photo shoot is to exemplify our ideas of street and urban apparel while keeping to a more authentic aesthetic to Little Tokyo and the Arts District.

Yung

Versace shades watchin’ ya…

Yung keeps it serious in his Undefeated gear.

He wore a pair of Nike Air Max 1 OG’s that I’ve been eying for a while.

“I don’t know what the hell is stopping ya. I’m clocking ya, Versace shades watching ya.” Biggie Smalls

What is your aesthetic (style/vibe)?

– Chillin.

Do you shop for specific brands?  Why or why not?

– No, I buy what I like.

How would you describe yourself as a consumer?

– Very picky.

Do you follow trends?  If yes, then through what media?

– Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, friends, and the street.

How would you describe your style?

– Yes, through friends.

Comments:  Monique and I were just about to give up for the day until we met Robert, a sales associate at the Undefeated store.  When I was about to take his picture he asked me if Versace shades were street style.  I think my answer was “I don’t think so” or something to that extent.  Later on when I had time to really think about his question I came to this conclusion… Even though Versace is a high-end brand, the last time it was seen/heard in pop culture & music (which heavily influences fashion) was when The Notorious B.I.G. had a verse in “One More Chance” on Versace shades.  Fashion recycles itself, I’m curious to see what else will make a comeback.

Yuhei

Casual, conscious, and updated.

Try and focus on Yuhei not the lady with the two tasty looking beers.

Yuhei opted for a loose knit beanie for the chilly Friday night.

At first glance they look like Vans, even I did a double take.

What is your aesthetic (style/vibe)?

– Atheletic

Do you shop for specific brands?  Why or why not?

– Yes, muestanent.

How would you describe yourself as a consumer?

–  Occasional shopper.

Do you follow trends?  If yes, then through what media?

– No, I get inspiration from the streets and what I see.

Comments: We met Yuhei and his companion (not pictured) outside of the ATX Woodfire Grill for a KCRW art gallery event.  At first he was hesitant on having his picture taken but his companion egged him on (thank you!).  I thought he was wearing Vans but when I took a closer look they turned out to be Nikes.  I tried looking up the style but the Google search rendered countless pages of royal blue Nikes.  I really like Yuhei’s overall look – it was casual, conscious, and updated.  In talking with Yuhei we later found out why he had been so hesitant, he works in the apparel industry. Even though it would’ve been interesting to find out more about his connections, we didn’t pry.

Comments:  We  met Danielle and her companion at the ATX Woodfire Grill for a KCRW art gallery event, she described herself as a compulsive shopper who does not look for any particular clothing brands or leans towards any specific trends. She dresses herself in clothing she describes as feeling  chill and stylish.  Danielle is seen wearing a green military style parka with a pair of oxblood Nike high tops.
